Turismo
do Alentejo ERT Regional Tourism Entity is the promoter
of the TransAlentejo Walking Trails Network, having
been the financing institution, with the support of
Turismo de Portugal, of the entire process of structuring
the network, involving municipalities, training the
destination and promotion through the organization
of the TransAlentejo Walking Festival in 2021, 2022
and 2023. This entity is responsible for organizing,
structuring and promoting tourism in the territories
of Alentejo (47 municipalities) and Lezíria
do Tejo (11 municipalities).

The
original idea of structuring the TransAlentejo Network,
the recognition and validation of routes, the production
of written and photographic content, signage in the
field, the production of graphic images, the technical
qualification and training of agents from municipalities
and the private sector, the organization of regular
events on the routes and the TransAlentejo Walking
Festival are the responsibility of SAL Sistemas de
Ar Livre. SAL is the oldest Walking Tour operator
in Portugal, which has been carrying out walking programs
since 1996 and is responsible for structuring networks
of walking routes and promotional events.

The
Alentejo Regional Tourism Promotion Agency is responsible
for promoting the TransAlentejo Routes in international
markets through the distribution of information at
tourism fairs abroad and hosting visits from operators
and journalists in the territory. ARPTA is an associative
entity made up of the Regional Tourism Entity, tourism
companies from different sectors of activity and municipalities
in Alentejo. Its exclusive function is to promote
tourism in the Alentejo territory, in terms of brands
and tourist products, in international markets.
